Eric Roberts Breaks Silence After Missing Daughter Emma Roberts’ Idaho Wedding

Eric Roberts is opening up about missing his daughter Emma Roberts‘ wedding to Cody John.

In a statement to Page Six, the Dark Knight actor, 70, said that despite not being in attendance for his 35-year-old daughter’s Idaho nuptials, “I love my daughter, always have, always will.”

“It is perfectly wonderful for her to celebrate however she wants, with whomever she wants,” he added.

The statement comes a day after the star-studded wedding, which saw Emma’s famous aunt, Julia Roberts, in attendance alongside husband Danny Moder, as well as several other celebrities, including Demi Moore, Kristen Stewart and her partner, Dylan Meyer, Sarah Paulson and Billie Lourd.

As for Eric’s whereabouts, according to Page Six, the Oscar nominee was seen leaving a Los Angeles-based Crunch Gym while the Scream Queens alum was getting married.

And though there were a few big names on hand for Emma’s wedding to Cody, 36 — which came after four years of dating — it was an intimate affair, with the couple saying “I do” in front of a small crowd of close friends and family at Cody’s family estate in Sun Valley.

The couple went public with their relationship in December 2022 with a New Year’s Eve Instagram post, and announced their engagement in July 2024, when Emma shared a photo of herself showing off her diamond ring while leaning on Cody’s shoulders in a grassy field.

“Putting this here before my mom tells everyone,” the American Horror Story star captioned the post.

Emma wore a white chiffon wedding gown with a high slit, per Vogue, which shared photos of her stunning look, along with a matching headband, while the groom looked dapper in a brown suit.

Even though Eric was noticeably absent, Emma’s mom, Kelly Cunningham, appeared to be in attendance and was seated in the front row, while Emma’s 5-year-old son, Rhodes, whom she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, walked her down the aisle.

Despite Eric not being there to see his daughter tie the knot with Cody, his stance on his relationship with Emma has remained the same. While appearing on the April 5 episode of the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, he maintained his claims that he and Emma were not estranged despite the issues they’ve had over the years.

“It’s only complicated through outside eyes … because they don’t get any of it,” Eric said at the time. “So they have their own take, whatever that is, and it’s not a straight line, because they’re not really involved.”

“I’m so proud of my daughter,” he added.
