‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Stars Beth and Duane Chapman Welcome Their First Great-Grandson!
There’s a new generation of Chapmans! Beth Chapman and her husband Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman have been through so much over the past year, and now they finally have some good news to share. Beth took to Instagram on Saturday, January 26, to reveal that she and Dog became first-time great-grandparents.
“My first great grandbaby. He’s adorable and he’s precious and he came five weeks early to meet me,” Beth, 51, wrote in the caption of a series of photos holding her new grandson.

She went on to share a message with her 23-year-old grandson, Dakota Chapman, on becoming a new dad. “@dakotadog808 Nothing more beautiful or inspiring than the birth of a new baby. A new generation of Chapmans. You will be an amazing father I’m very proud of you,” Beth continued.
The reality star then shared a sweet message to her stepson Leland Chapman, who just became a grandpa. “Congratulations @lelandbchapman on the birth of your first grandbaby. It just gets better,” she added. Leland, 43, is Dog’s son from his first marriage to ex-wife La Fonda Sue Honeycutt.

Beth seems to be overjoyed with the new little addition to the Chapman family, which seems to be a bright light in the midst of her current health battle. She was first diagnosed with throat cancer in September 2017, and doctors were able to remove the tumor via surgery and she was cancer-free. But Beth had to undergo another emergency surgery in November 2016, which is when she learned that her cancer had returned. She started chemotherapy just one month later.
“The treatments are in L.A. They are going well, but they certainly take their toll on her,” the family’s attorney, Andrew R. Brettler of Lavely & Singer, previously revealed in a statement obtained by Us Weekly. “The Chapmans have a lot on their plate right now. They just started filming for the new WGN show while Beth’s been going through treatment. Hasn’t been easy but they are keeping a great outlook and Beth is one of the strongest women I know.”
