Husband-and-wife duo Oliver and Natalie Jackson weren’t expecting to become a family of 15…and counting!
On Tuesday, April 14, the Jackson family — who are from the U.K. — appeared on British daytime talk show This Morning and revealed that Oliver actually underwent a vasectomy at one point, but it was clearly unsuccessful.
“I thought 10 [kids], that’s got to be enough, so yes, I had a vasectomy and lo and behold that obviously didn’t work particularly well because we are now expecting our fourth since the vasectomy,” Oliver remarked as Natalie is currently pregnant with child no. 14.

“It’s interesting when you talk to doctors, the occurrence of [the vasectomy failing] is not uncommon, but normally at the stage of life that men are having the procedure, both them and their partner’s fertility is naturally declining, so it’s probably masked in a lot of individuals, but clearly not in our case,” he added.
To make the situation more unbelievable, before bringing children into the world, Oliver had been diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer in 2004, and after an operation and chemotherapy, he was told he was “sub fertile.”

As for how the pair feels about their bonus children, Natalie shared, “We feel blessed, we don’t feel that it’s a chore, we don’t feel it’s a negative, we just feel very, very lucky.”
In terms of the financial aspect of having such a large family, Natalie explained, “Oliver’s in a quite well-paid job, so we just have to budget and stretch it to cover.”
“We don’t have a choice,” she joked. “You can’t send them back.”
