Viewers hoping to see Joe Rogan take a seat behind one of television’s most iconic news desks are about to be disappointed.
Following a report that claimed Rogan, 58, was being considered for a role at 60 Minutes amid the recent shakeups at CBS, a spokesperson for CBS News told Forbes that the rumors were false on Thursday, June 4.
New CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss had plans to revamp 60 Minutes as a whole. Her leadership style ruffled more than a few feathers and some reporters chose to step away from their positions after she came onboard at the network.
In February, 60 Minutes anchor Anderson Cooper announced he was leaving the show after 20 years. His final episode aired on May 17.

This week, an argument erupted in a staff meeting between longtime CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley and Nick Bilton, the program’s new executive producer hired by Weiss last week.
According to the New York Times, Pelley, 68, butted heads with Bilton after he made the remark that Weiss was a fan of 60 Minutes.
“She’s murdering 60 Minutes. She does not love this place, she was brought in to kill it and is doing exactly that,” Pelley said.
He was fired by Bilton the following day who accused him of planning an “ambush” against him, per the Washington Post.
