Cameron Boyce’s Mom Libby Shares Heartbreaking Tribute to Her Late Son: ‘He Is My Compass’

Two weeks after the late Disney star Cameron Boyce passed away at just 20 years old, his mother, Libby Boyce, is breaking her silence. On Saturday, July 22, Libby took to Instagram to share a photo of her with her late son and she paid tribute to him in her caption.

“He is my compass ❤️,” Libby captioned a black and white selfie of her with Cameron. Fans immediately flooded the comments section with their condolences for the grieving mother.

“I know it must be difficult what they are going through … but I want you to know that we are all with you!” one supportive fan wrote, and another commented, “So much love to your family 💔❤️.”

Cameron passed away on July 6, a spokesperson for the Boyce family confirmed via a statement with Us Weekly.  “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the statement read. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”

The actor was best known for his roles in the Disney film franchise Descendants, the Disney TV series Jessie and the films Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2. Shortly after his death, Cameron’s costars, friends, family and fans all paid tribute to his memory on social media.

Just four days after his passing, Cameron’s parents shared a joint statement thanking everyone for their support. “There are no words to describe how moved we are by the tremendous outpouring of love and support from our family, friends and the world,” Libby and her husband, Victor Boyce, shared in a statement to E! News. “Thank you, everyone, for encircling us with your love and respect of Cameron and concern for our family. He was the definition of human kindness, and a light that will forever shine as his spirit lives on in all who knew and loved him. He was the rock of our family, and he always had a positive, heartwarming, insightful and caring outlook on everything and everyone.”
