Briana Renee’s New Single “Cage” Will Be Everyone’s Power Anthem This Year (EXCLUSIVE)

New year, new Briana Renee! In an exclusive interview with In Touch, the Little Women: LA star — who now goes by "Renée" — dished on her new single, "Cage," which came out today — and this is definitely a side of the fierce mother-of-two we have not seen before.

"[Fans] can expect a whole new side of me. Just a side that I’ve always wanted to release," Briana said via phone on Friday. "My song is — it’s so hard to put on paper. It’s so many different feels and so many different people can connect to it. They can just expect a very raw look into what I keep inside." The reality star and singer also opened up about her songwriting process.

"I sat down with a producer and just spoke with all the vibes that i felt in my life. They asked, ‘What are you going through right now?’ And it was not just through my divorce and time and stressors of life, but it was really a reflection on my whole life, how I felt, and how I realize everything I want to say and everything I feel inside," she recalled. "Sometimes I keep it bottled up and I’m done with that. The time is now to just express who I really am and what I’m about. It just started pouring out. It was like a therapy session."

Those who follow the Lifetime reality series know Briana filed for divorce from her husband, Matt Grundhoffer, back in November after three years together — and she admitted that their relationship did have an influence on her music. "[It's about] a lot of my relationships throughout my life, from family to sadly ex-husbands — just a lot of times in life," she explained. "It really was just like that last moment of like, ‘I’m ready. I’m empowered. Let’s get this out.’ I needed my push." We are so glad to see this side of Renée, and are totally loving this jam!
