Firerose, the ex-wife of Billy Ray Cyrus, is finding strength in a tight circle of famous friends.
Per a Page Six article published Thursday, July 16, Firerose (real name: Johanna Rose Hodges) has leaned on a group of celebrity pals, including Crystal Harris, Courtney Stodden and Aubrey O’Day, to cope with her divorce from the country star.
“My beautiful friend Crystal Harris, who’s a New York Times best-selling author, survived many years [of alleged abuse],” the singer-songwriter, 37, said, according to the article, calling Harris, 40, a “sister” with whom she has “bond[ed] over some very difficult things.”
According to Page Six, Firerose also called Stodden “another amazing angel” and said she doesn’t know where she’d be “without” O’Day, adding, “I’m really grateful for every strong [expletive] survivor who’s gone before me.”
The couple were only married for seven months when Cyrus filed for divorce in 2024. Firerose alleged that Cyrus’ “unpredictable and volatile” behavior amounted to “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse,” the outlet reported — claims Cyrus, 64, has vehemently denied.
He countered in his petition that Firerose engaged in inappropriate marital conduct and racked up nearly $100,000 in unauthorized credit card charges, which she has also denied. Their divorce was finalized in August 2024.
“Our group chat goes off in the most beautiful way,” Firerose said of her “Survivor Sisters” text thread, per the report. “It’s such a supportive, loving connection that we have.”

According to the article, Firerose is estranged from her biological family, and said her friends “show [her] what real love is.” Cyrus has since moved on with English actress Elizabeth Hurley, while Firerose channels her healing into her podcast, No One Asked Her, and new music.
“You can go through the most difficult things and come out of it, and it doesn’t take away any of the trauma or pain, but you can always choose to alchemize it, better yourself and help others with what you’ve learned,” she said, per the report.
