Beth Chapman’s Daughters Speak Out After ‘Emotional’ Memorial Service in Hawaii

They’ve been through so much. After Beth Chapman passed away on June 26, her family decided to do two memorial services for her — one in Hawaii and one in Colorado. She was remembered in a beautiful ceremony in Waikiki, Hawaii on Saturday, June 29, and three of her kids, Bonnie Jo Chapman, Cecily Chapman and Lyssa Chapman, spoke out after the service. Bonnie, 20, wrote in an Instagram story post, “Thank you, everyone, who came today. She’d love the ceremony and the flowers everyone brought. Thank you for joining us on this emotional ride.”

Lyssa, 32, also shared a message to Instagram about the memorial. “Someone wake me up from this awful dream,” she said. “I have no words. Still in disbelief. Pray for our family, as we lost our strongest member. 💔.” Cecily, 26, shared photos on the social media platform and wrote in part, “Thank you to the beautiful fans and friends near and far! … @mslyssac my sissy you showed me so much love and support in the last week I can’t believe it even happened but I know you’ll always be here for me as I grow older!”

As In Touch previously reported, Beth’s memorial service was open to fans, too. “Cecily and Lyssa Chapman invite the public to join the Chapman Ohana (family) for a gathering to honor Beth Chapmanʻs life. Beth had two homes — Hawai’i and Colorado. ‘I love Hawai’i the most,’ she said, so she will be sent off in true Hawaiian style, with aloha.”

Beth passed away at just 51 years old after losing her long battle with cancer. Her husband, Duane “Dog” Chapman, broke the news to fans via a statement he shared to Twitter. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” he wrote. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head Mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.” Our thoughts are with the whole Chapman family as they work through their grief.
