This is heartbreaking. Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman sadly confirmed on Twitter that his wife, Beth Chapman, passed away on June 26. She was 51 years old. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” he wrote. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

Beth died after a long battle with cancer. She was probably best known for starring alongside her husband on the popular shows Dog the Bounty HunterDog and Beth: On the Hunt and Dog’s Most Wanted. News of her passing comes just days after she was admitted into the ICU at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 22, where she was placed under a medically induced coma. Duane, 66, took to Twitter to ask fans to pray for his wife when she was admitted. “Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you,” he wrote.

Beth was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer back in September 2017. She went through cancer removal surgery and chemotherapy and was cancer-free by that December. However, in November 2018, she was rushed to the hospital again and had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening blockage in her throat. Following that surgery, Beth learned that her stage 2 throat cancer had returned. Beth has been undergoing alternative treatments for cancer instead of chemotherapy in the months since, and she hasn’t been shy about sharing everything about the uphill battle — the good and the bad — with her fans throughout her treatment.

When one of Beth’s followers asked how she stays so positive via Twitter on June 13, the TV personality replied, “It [tries] but I rebuke that. I ask God to bind that spirit and keep those thoughts from my head. I’m no different I have good days and bad.”

In December, Duane noted that his wife had even managed to keep her sense of humor despite her health challenges. “She’s still trying to get involved in my bounties and business,” Dog exclusively revealed to In Touch magazine. “She’s trying to still advise me on my work, and I’m like, ‘Honey, I was Dog the Bounty Hunter before I met you, stay out of it!’ And she woke up the other night and told me, ‘You’re so damn stupid, if I die you’re going to lose the farm,’ and I said, ‘Beth, we don’t have a farm.’” We really hope he’s doing OK and is surrounded by family during this unimaginably difficult time.
