She’s a fighter. Duane “Dog” Chapman recently spoke about his wife’s battle with cancer, and how Beth Chapman refuses to stop working even as she takes on the challenge. “She has told me repeatedly that if these are her last days on earth she wants to spend every moment with me on the hunt, living life to the fullest and enjoying the time we have left together,” he told The Daily Mail on March 27.

Beth, 51, was diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer in September 2017 and underwent surgery shortly after. Sadly, in November she was taken to Cedars-Sinai again to undergo emergency surgery for a “life-threatening blockage” in her throat. Beth and her family then learned that her cancer is back, but she doesn’t seem to be letting it slow her down.

“My baby has cancer and she is fighting like hell. I have cried a lot over this because Beth is my everything,” Dog, 66, told the outlet. “Despite all of the obstacles I have overcome, this is by far the biggest test of my life and mark my words, I will not let her die … She is my rock and my bodyguard. I will do everything I can to keep her here.”

The couple is currently filming 10 episodes of Dog’s Most Wanted, a new series debuting on WGN America in May. In spite of the health battle she’s dealing with, Beth joined forces with her husband and his son, Leland, to chase and capture a felon in Alabama in mid-March, and is clearly not planning on letting her diagnosis stop her from doing this important work.

“If this were me, I would be a big sissy. But not Beth,” Dog told Daily Mail. “She is still hitting the ground running with me. Beth is determined cancer won’t slow her down. In fact, I am so amazed by Beth’s strength and positive attitude.” He added, “‘The best part of my job is having her by my side on every journey. I can’t imagine a day without her and think deep down inside she is always concerned for my safety because she wants the security of knowing I come home to her every night.” They really do seem to always have each other’s backs.
