Oh no! Beth Chapman and Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman were set to celebrate their 13th wedding anniversary together on Monday, May 20, but it seems like things didn’t go to plan. Though the couple lives in Hawaii, they headed back to their house in Colorado for the big event — but once they got there, they realized there was a problem. A huge snowstorm had hit the area, and as they were driving down the road, they could hardly see more than a few yards in front of them.

Beth, 51, took to Instagram to break the sad news to her followers. “Seriously,” she wrote. “May 20th Anniversary is officially on hold due to bad weather!” She posted a video of the road conditions as they drove, pointing out that the storm was so bad that they couldn’t even see their house sitting on the hill. “What a trip,” she said as she looked out the windows. In the comments, she confirmed to a fan that this was a first for the couple. According to her, they “never” get snow in May.

Not all of the Dog the Bounty Hunter fans thought it was such a bad thing, though. One was convinced that it might even be lucky. “It’s a good sign!” they wrote in the comments. “Shows that through all the ‘bad weather’ in your marriage and life together, you and Dog together, with all the love, will still overcome!” We bet that’s true — and we’re sure that the couple was glad to have an opportunity to cozy up inside, even if they didn’t get to go through with their regular anniversary plans.

The star has overcome many past hardships, including facing her recent cancer battle, with her husband by her side. Getting sick has forced her to take stock of her life, and she’s decided that she’s done well. In a recent sermon shared on Mother’s Day, she admitted that she started to worry about her kids and “bonus” kids after her diagnosis. She said, “You start to become painfully aware of how are they gonna make it. Are they gonna make it? Are they strong enough to make it? What can I leave them with? What can I do right now to make sure that they make it? And I’m not gonna say that I’m ever satisfied.”

Ultimately, though, she’s been lucky. “I will say that I have had an extremely wonderful life,” she continued. “I went to jail. I lost my kids. [But] all those things led me down this wonderful path of Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman. And being Mrs. Dog has been my greatest role.”
