‘Alaskan Bush People’ Is Getting Renewed for Season 10 and the Browns Are ‘Thrilled’

Things weren’t looking good for the Alaskan Bush People for a minute there, but sources are now saying the show has actually been renewed for season 10. Yep, despite Ami and Billy Brown worrying that the ratings crash might’ve doomed their cash cow, it looks like the finale for season 9 managed to turn things around. And we dare say all the recent family drama hasn’t hurt their numbers either. According to a new April 24 report from Radar Online, the family just learned the news — and they’re “thrilled.”

“Billy and Ami were just informed this week that the network would like to do another season,” a source close to the Discovery Channel show told Radar. “And, of course, they were on board. … They were a bit worried because of lower than usual ratings last season, but after the finale brought in big numbers for them, they knew that season 10 would likely be happening.” They were right! With all the IRL drama happening, they’ve got plenty of material for another season, too.

With big brother Matt Brown setting out with his girlfriend in California, younger brother Noah Brown settling down in Colorado with his wife and new baby, and baby of the family Rain Brown eager to get old enough that she can also flee the nest and start her own life, this family seems to be falling apart. There’s nothing reality TV audiences like to watch more than a messy scandal play out on screen. Of course, the family would rather not let on that anything is happening. Despite their acknowledgment on the show that not everything is hunky-dory, Rain is still pretending that pretty much everyone lives in the mountains together. Noah is reassuring fans that “things are great” with his family.

This kind of drama just can’t be contained, though — and the truth always comes out. But even all of that aside, fans will be eager to see Gabe Brown actually tie the knot with new wife Raquell “Rose” Pantilla and get to know his bride better. Noah’s son, Elijah, also hasn’t had his on-camera debut just yet. And what will happen with Billy’s health? It’s a good thing we’ll have season 10 so that we can keep following this family’s life in the bush.
