When we saw Noah Brown tell his mom, Ami Brown, that she was going to become a grandmother on the March 3 episode of Alaskan Bush People, he couldn’t have been more excited. But now, we’re betting he wished he’d reigned some of that energy in — because while Ami was thrilled to hear the news, things aren’t going so well now that the baby is actually here. According to a new Radar Online report, the Discovery Channel star is discovering that his mom can actually be kind of controlling when it comes to parenting, even when it’s not her own kid. And according to a source close to the family, Noah even called his mom “overbearing.” Ouch!

“Ami is trying to tell Rhain how she parented because it is important for Ami to be able to have that connection with her first grandson,” the source told Radar. Though the family decided to put their differences behind them and all come together for baby Elijah, it seems that the reality of having a baby around just might tear them apart. “[Noah is] finding that his family and mother are a bit overbearing right now and he just kind of wants some space for a minute.”

And, apparently, Billy Brown isn’t much better. “Billy is insisting that the baby be a part of the show and Noah hasn’t fully agreed with all of that yet,” the source continued. “He just wants everyone to chill.” And if Noah is trying to keep his son out of the spotlight, he likely also isn’t thrilled that little Elijah already made his social media debut on little sister Rain Brown‘s Instagram. Though Noah and Rhain Brown haven’t shared a more recent update online since their pregnancy announcement, Rainy posted a picture and the baby’s full name, not to mention what seems like it might be his birthday and approximate time of birth.

“Dear Elijah Conner, I first met you at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26th. And I will never be the same,” she shared online. In the past, the two siblings have had tension for one reason or another. Let’s just hope that the drama is all still in the past — and that Noah and Rhain don’t have any more difficult family members to deal with while they should have the chance to focus just on their marriage and son.
