Zac Efron is Ted Bundy in the First Teaser Trailer For Biopic ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’

We never expected to see him here! Actor Zac Efron made his humble beginnings back in the High School Musical days but his acting chops have led him to explore much deeper, more interesting roles. On January 25, he made his serial killer debut as the infamous Ted Bundy in the trailer for the new biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, and we gotta say, his Ted is pretty damn convincing.

As the trailer starts, we see a loving, romantic Ted as he romances the woman who becomes his girlfriend, Liz Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins. “When I feel his love, I feel like I’m on top of the world,” she explains to a friend who asks why she’s so infatuated with Ted.

But when she confronts Ted after things start to seem fishy, he’s not having any of it. “You don’t actually believe this garbage, do you?” But she clearly knows something isn’t right. “It’s in all the papers, Ted,” she tells him. But when she seems him with her daughter, she softens. It’s pretty heartbreaking to watch when we all know what kind of guy he truly is. It’s not a secret that the real Ted was incredibly charismatic, but it will be really fascinating to see how his girlfriend historically stuck by him.

We even get to see glimpses of Ted defending himself in court, something which he is almost more famous for than the crimes he committed. Zac, 31, is such a charming actor and even the small bits of his in-court persona in the trailer prove he’s going to really nail that aspect of the character.

The entire trailer looks like one raucous circus, which is exactly how the whole case seemed to feel like. We’re excited they appear have nailed the tone of the story, as well as the casting. Seriously, could you picture a better Ted than Zac? We didn’t think so.

But with no official release date, we’ll just be twiddling our thumbs and waiting. Come on, you’re killing us here!
