They put a ring on it! From Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, 2022 was a big year for celebrity couples as many announced that they’re getting hitched and showed off their stunning engagement rings that surely cost a fortune.

The “Emo Girl” rapper proposed to the Jennifer’s Body star on January 11 in Puerto Rico with a uniquely chosen emerald and diamond ring.

“‘Yes, in this life and every life,’” the “Bad Things” artist captioned his post on January 12, explaining the meaning behind his ring choice. “Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”

The jewelry designer also provided further details on the custom ring in an Instagram post, revealing the design is from his “No Regrets Chapel” collection.

“The design features two interlocking thorn bands, each side holding one of the two perfectly shaped, pear shape gems,” Stephen captioned the same video that MGK shared one day prior. “Created in 18-carat white gold, pave set with colorless natural diamonds. The diamond is a D color antique cut and the emerald an extraordinary completely untreated Colombian gem.”

Another celebrity who went the non-traditional route when choosing a ring for his soon-to-be-fiancée was the Armageddon star. He and J. Lo  – who called off their first engagement in January 2004 after postponing their September 2003 nuptials – rekindled their romance nearly 20 years later.

“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed,” the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer shared via her “On The JLo” newsletter in April. “I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again.”

Ben proposed with a “green cushion cut diamond set with white diamond side stones that look like trillions,” GIA certified gemologist and founder of The Clear Cut, Olivia Landau, told In Touch

It seemed as though Ben truly knew his love as Jen wrote, “Green has always been my lucky color and now, for sure, it always will be.”
