On Wednesday, May 27, the 65-year-old singer debuted a shocking new look on Instagram, complete with a chic blonde bob. “A new era begins tomorrow,” she captioned a series of photos from inside the recording studio.
While her new song, “Just One,” ended up being a remix of the Cornetto jingle, a source tells In Touch that Boyle “could very well have one of the most lucrative second acts ever” if she wants.
“America has always had a huge soft spot for Susan,” says the source. “She’s got such a powerful voice and she’s so humble. If she goes for it, this comeback is pretty much guaranteed to be a gold mine.”

Boyle took the world by storm in 2009 when she auditioned for season 3 of Britain’s Got Talent, performing “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Miserables.
She came in second place but went on to release eight albums before suffering a minor stroke in 2022. “I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again,” Boyle wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post last year, per E! News.
Simon Cowell “still says she’s one of the greatest discoveries of his career,” reveals the source, “and there are plenty of other big stars who’ve been cheering her on for years,” including Katy Perry and Demi Moore, who “was one of the first celebrities to really promote her back in the day and she’s very much a fan to this day.”
Adds the source: “She really has support from all sides of the industry.”
