People hoping to attend the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles may encounter some pretty hefty ticket fees.

Holly Rowe, a sports reporter for ESPN and ABC, is among those frustrated with pricing for the upcoming Games.

In an X post shared Thursday, July 30, Rowe included a screenshot of a receipt showing she paid $3,300 for two Category B tickets to a track and field mixed final event scheduled for July 22, 2028.

The added service fee came to a total of $793 ($396.50 per ticket), bringing the total to $4,093.

“I am SO excited I was able to purchase tickets for @LA28 until I got my receipt,” Rowe wrote on X. “I work so hard for my money to splurge on this once in a lifetime experience but the service fees should NOT be sliding scale.”

“Same service for a $100 ticket as a $1000 ticket,” she added. “THIS is NOT fair to fans.”

According to LAist.com, some service fees are around 24 percent of each ticket. One person reported that they went to purchase a $2,100 ticket and it had a $505 service fee, bringing the total cost to $2,604.63.

“It’s insane,” the sports fan told the outlet. “I don’t understand what the service is.”

In May, the Los Angeles Times spoke with multiple ticket buyers, with some voicing their frustration regarding the exorbitant costs.

“I was disappointed the tickets were so expensive,” ticket buyer Marlena Kaplan, who spent $4,500 for 12 tickets, told the publication. “I think the ticket prices are unfair for locals that don’t have the financial ability to [purchase them].”

As In Touch previously reported, people who were hoping to get tickets in one of the first drops said they were encountering numerous difficulties, relating to the time slots and otherwise.

The latest ticketing drama comes after Organizing Committee chairman Casey Wasserman came under fire for his name showing up in the Epstein files.

Wasserman, 52, communicated by email with Jeffrey Epstein‘s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell while he was married to ex-wife Laura Ziffren, with whom he shares two children.

Wasserman previously said he “deeply” regrets his “correspondence” with Maxwell, which he said occurred “long before her horrific crimes came to light.”

The LA28 executive board conducted a review with outside counsel related to concerns over the emails, and Wasserman fully cooperated.

“We found Mr. Wasserman’s relationship with Epstein and Maxwell did not go beyond what has already been publicly documented,” the executive board said in a statement at the time, adding that Wasserman should “continue to lead LA28 and deliver a safe and successful Games.”
