Slick Woods Reveals She Went Into Labor After Rihanna Spanked Her at the Savage X Fenty Runway Show
That’s what friends are for? Model Slick Woods (real name: Simone Thompson) revealed that she went into labor during Rihanna’s runway show in September 2018 after the singer hit her with uhh … a very unique item!
“I closed New York Fashion Week modeling in Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty show in pasties, thigh-highs, stilettos and not much else, “the 22-year-old told Vogue U.K. in a personal essay. “There were crazy interpretative dancers, as well as the Hadid sisters and a jungle installation — all pretty normal for an event hosted by Rihanna. My last memory before going into the hospital is of Rihanna spanking me with a whip.”
She added, “I was already two centimeters dilated when I left the show. I was in labor for another 18 hours. The delivery room was out of control. There was my agent and my baby’s daddy and Erykah Badu on FaceTime, acting as my doula. Then suddenly there he was: my miracle. I have no words for what felt like to hold him for the first time.”
After her baby boy Saphir was born, she posted about her journey to motherhood on Instagram. “A lewk, 14 hours of labor and a king is born,” she wrote at the time. “This is the face of a WOMAN IN LABOR, we hold s–t down. Most of us don’t even know how much we’re going through. I’m here to say I CAN DO WHATEVER THE F–K I WANT, WHENEVER THE F–K I WANT AND SO CAN YOU. Thank you @qualityresusqueen and the Fenty family for taking such good care of us.”
The Minnesota native has been friends with the pop star, 31, for quite some time after the singer discovered her via social media. “[Rihanna] saw a photo of me on Instagram, found me, and we hit it off” the brunette beauty told Elle U.K. magazine in July 2018. “You ever loved someone so much that every time you see them, you end up in tears somehow? She reminds me of my mother. Like, they’re the same person. I tell them they remind me of each other all the time.”
Aww, well, it seems like this bond is definitely unbreakable now!
