Sister Wives Christine Brown’s Daughter Ysabel Thought Mom’s Engagement Was ‘Too Soon’ to David Woolley

Christine Brown’s daughter Ysabel Brown confessed that she had hesitations about how quickly her mom’s relationship with David Woolley was moving.

“When David first proposed to my mom, I thought it was very soon. I thought it was too soon,” Ysabel, 21, revealed during the Sunday, January 12, episode of Sister Wives. “But I think I’ve had time to, like, adjust to it.”

David, 60, marked Christine’s first relationship following her November 2021 split from Kody Brown. Christine, 52, and Kody, 56, were married for 30 years and welcomed daughters Mykelti, Aspyn, Ysabel, Gwendlyn and Truely, and as well as son Paedon, before she decided to end their spiritual marriage.

The TLC personality revealed she was dating someone in February 2023, going Instagram official with their relationship later that month. By April 2023, the pair purchased a home together, announced their engagement and had their eyes set on an October 2023 wedding date.

“It’s given me a lot more clarity to see, like, how much they love each other,” Ysabel told the cameras. “I’m just excited and happy for them.”

Fans watched Christine and David make it down the aisle during the episode and although Ysabel initially had some reservations about the whirlwind relationship, she later shared the touching moment when she realized David was the perfect match for her mother.

“We were out of town and he looked at you and he was like, ‘Oh, I love you so much,’” Ysabel told her mother as they got ready for the October 2023 nuptials. “Like, just honest and pure. And I’ve never heard somebody say, ‘I love you’ that much to you.”

Earlier in the season, David met Kody for the first time during a family Valentine’s Day party. Christine was accompanied to the gathering by her then-boyfriend, while Kody attended with his wife, Robyn Brown.

“How long have you guys been dating?” Kody immediately asked during the November 10, 2024 episode, to which Christine replied, “A month and a half.”

The questions from her ex continued, with the father of 18 asking David if he had met the kids — referring to the six children and three grandchildren he shares with Christine.

“He knows all the kids,” the Cooking With Just Christine Star replied quickly, before daughter Mykelti, 28, chimed in and told her dad that David “babysat [the grandkids] by himself while we went and got pedicures.”

“I’m used to a lot of kids. I’ll have 10 grandkids. I have eight kids,” David explained to Kody and Robyn, 46, as they nodded their heads. “I’ve been around polygamy my whole life. I’m used to a lot of kids. Large groups don’t bother me at all.”

Since filming the series, Christine and David celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary in October 2024, with the dad of eight calling their relationship “one hell of a ride.”

“I was in Sedona a few weeks ago, it’s really really pretty there, just like [Christine] is. I’m so glad she found me, and stalked me,” David captioned his post on October 15, 2024, which featured a selfie of the couple. “She’s the most thoughtful, loving, caring person. I’m enjoying this ride and just want to keep riding.”
