Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Jokes About Kody Wanting to Walk Her Down the Aisle to 'Get Rid of' Her
Sister Wives star Meri Brown jokingly responded to her ex-husband, Kody Brown, offering to walk her down the aisle if she ever gets married in the future.
After Kody, 55, revealed he wanted to play a crucial part in Meri’s potential next wedding during the November 24 episode, the mother of one, 53, admitted she was still surprised by the sentiment while talking to Us Weekly in an interview published on Tuesday, December 10.
“He did [say that] and I also said, ‘Yeah, no.’ I might’ve added an expletive in there, but yeah, no,” Meri recalled to the outlet. “That’s not happening at all. It just doesn’t make sense.”
During the previous episode, fans watched Kody help Meri move out of her Arizona home as she relocated to Utah. After he got emotional and claimed that it was the “end of the era” between them, Kody shocked Meri by stating, “I get to walk her down the aisle.”
While Meri insisted that Kody will not walk her down the aisle if she ever gets married again, she did admit that she found the situation to be funny.
“I did joke with him and say, ‘Hey, the only reason why you want to walk me down the aisle is to just make sure that I am gotten rid of. Please take her, take her. I don’t want her back,’” Meri told the outlet.
She also teased that she would be open to getting married again, though revealed she’s done with polygamy and only wants to be in a monogamous relationship moving forward.
“I just think that having somebody that is committed to me and that I’m committed to, that I can share my life with and share my experiences is a pretty cool thing,” she said.
Kody and Meri legally wed in 1990, though they got divorced in 2014 so that he could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, in order to adopt her children from a previous relationship. Despite no longer being legally married, the TV personalities remained in a spiritual marriage until they confirmed their split by issuing a joint statement in January 2023.
“We feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way and in our own timing,” Kody and Meri shared via Instagram on January 10, 2023. “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.”
Meri also revealed what her and Kody’s relationship looks like today nearly two years after they went their separate ways.

“We don’t see each other. We’re kind to each other, but we’re not seeking each other out to have a phone call or a text conversation,” she told Us Weekly. “He says often, ‘We’ll be friends, we’ll be friends,’ and it’s like, ‘OK, we’ll be friendly,’ I think, but it’s not like we’re best friend’s status or anything like that. I’m good with it.”
Meri was Kody’s third wife to leave him after Christine Brown and Janelle Brown ended their marriages with the patriarch. He is still currently married to Robyn, 46.
