Ryan Edwards Says He “Messed up” After Arrest and Takes “Full Accountability” for His Mistakes

Lesson learned. Ryan Edwards owned up to his mistakes while speaking out about his latest arrest. The former Teen Mom OG star explained his side of the story, after he was booked in Red Bank, TN, on July 23 for violating probation over a 2017 heroin possession charge. 

“I got a speeding ticket and while I was pulled over, it came up that I was in violation of my probation because the community service had not been completed,” Ryan, 30, revealed while speaking to E! News about his arrest on Aug. 8. “I didn’t do all of it. I went to jail for not doing all of my community service. It’s not that I wasn’t taking the community service seriously, it’s just that we have so much going on, I didn’t realize the deadline had passed. It was just a misunderstanding. I thought I had more time.”

Ryan said he realizes the gravity of the situation and takes “full accountability” for not completing his community service on time. “I messed up, but I’ve had a chance to get organized and fix the situation,” he said. The reality star also made sure to clear the air about the speculation that his latest violation was drug-related.

“It was the fact that I got pulled over and had not completed my community service. The only drug-related charge was the original one from two years ago, from before I went to rehab,” Ryan explained. “There is nothing new that is drug-related.” The reality star was released from jail after a week, and he’s currently nursing a broken ankle after tripping over the family dog. 

Ryan’s wife, Mackenzie Standifer, is currently pregnant with their first child together, and the reality star revealed that she’ll be standing by his side through thick and thin. “Ryan is my husband,” she said to E! News. “Yes, he’s made some mistakes but we are moving past them. He has my full support.” Ryan is currently awaiting his community service assignment and he now has six extra months added to his probation due to his latest arrest.
