Prince Harry is “disappointed” now that his family has turned him away from Buckingham Palace.
The Duke of Sussex has returned to the U.K. to mark the one-year countdown until the 2027 Invictus Games. Although his last visit across the pond saw a brief meeting with his father King Charles III, which was perceived by many as a thawing of the royal family’s public feud, it seems the tension stands as Prince Harry is turned away from Buckingham Palace.
After he was invited to stay during his visit, the offer was reportedly revoked.
On July 6, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex said in a statement obtained by People, “I am aware of multiple briefings from Buckingham Palace last week suggesting that the Duke had not accepted the offer of accommodation at a Royal Residence.

“Following RAVEC’s decision not to provide security for his family, the Duke spent last week making alternative security arrangements. Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend,” the spokesperson clarified.
“It is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason. Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday,” the statement concluded. “It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment.”
According to the BBC, Buckingham Palace confirmed there was an offer of accommodation for Prince Harry. However, his team had failed to confirm and then formally declined the invitation on Saturday. The Duke of Sussex’s team had reportedly changed their position later that day but it had already been too late to make arrangements.
The palace said Prince Harry had been aware of the decision since Saturday.
