Prince Harry and Prince William Have ‘Drifted Apart’ After Starting Their Own Families

So sad. As Prince Harry and Prince William start to have their own families, they’re no longer as close, a source told In Touch exclusively. “The Queen hoped that the arrival of Archie would bring her grandsons together,” the insider dished. “Whilst they still talk, their relationship isn’t back to how it used to be.”

The source continued, “The boys are both married and have families of their own so it’s only natural that they’ve drifted apart. There are still unresolved problems with Meghan [Markle] — although William has accepted her into the family, her strong opinions have rubbed him and some of the other royals up the wrong way.”

This is far from the first time royal family watchers have heard of tension in the royal family, or about the princes’ bond weakening. Previously, In Touch reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton (or their staff) took to Instagram on April 21, to wish Queen Elizabeth II a happy birthday, and ended up upsetting fans with the picture they chose for the post. “Wishing a very happy 93rd birthday to Her Majesty The Queen,” the Kensington Royal Instagram account captioned the family picture. So far so good. However, in the photo, you can see the queen, William, Prince Harry, Princess Charlotte, and Prince George … but not Meghan. Hmm.

While that may have been an oversight, it’s not uncommon for fans of the royal family to see what’s happening with the British royal family in the light of day and wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes — and whether there really is more tension than the family is letting on. For instance, when the UK Sunday Times revealed Prince Harry and Prince William would split into separate royal courts, the move raised some eyebrows. “The brothers have leaned on each other and looked after each other since their mother died. But now they have their own families, they no longer rely on each other as before,” a royal insider revealed.

But is that the whole story? Perhaps, as the insider told In Touch, the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex are drifting apart more than outsiders may realize.
