Miranda Lambert ‘Married a Cheater’ in Brendan McLoughlin, Says His Ex-Fianceé’s Mom

He’s got one shady past. Country music darling Miranda Lambert shocked fans when she revealed that she recently married Brendan McLoughlin in a surprise wedding announcement on February 16. Fans were sort of blindsided because the 35-year-old singer kept their relationship a secret — and Brendan, 27, is keeping a few secrets of his own. Carol claimed that Jackie, 24, and Brendan were engaged during the summer of 2018 when Jackie was chosen to travel to Sweden in order to play professional soccer. But the Staten Island, New York, native got injured and had to return home. Once she arrived back home in the states, she allegedly found out about Brendan’s cheating scandal — through the other woman.

“The girl contacted her. Jackie was in Sweden playing professional soccer, got injured and came home, and the girl contacted her. She broke the news to her,” Carol claimed. “[Brendan] tried to deny it and then begged her to stay with him. She was only going for a few months to play, he was begging her to marry him before she left, even though he knew the girl was pregnant.”

So should Miranda watch her back? Carol thinks so. “Yes, she definitely married a cheater, absolutely. A no good cheater,” the mother said in a separate interview with In Touch.

As In Touch previously reported, Brendan is a NYPD officer and also a new dad. He reportedly welcomed a child with his ex Kaihla Rettinger— the woman he allegedly cheated on Jackie with — in November 2018.

Despite his alleged cheating past, Miranda still gushed over her new hubby on social media. “In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news,” the “Little Red Wagon” singer wrote in her Instagram caption. “I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for…. me. #theone.”
