Country girl to city slicker! Miranda Lambert is spending more time in NYC with her NYPD hubby Brendan McLoughlin, and although she has taken a liking to the big city, the 35-year-old still isn’t a fan of the underground transit system.

“The subway is still scary to me,” Miranda told Kelly Ford in an interview with New York’s Country 94.7 on Monday, November 4. “My husband is trying to get me to chill out about it. … I don’t know how to navigate it. I’m scared of the stops. I know I won’t pay attention — I’m A.D.D. — so I’ll be daydreaming and miss my place to get out.” We totally hear you, girl!

Although she hasn’t mastered the subway system just yet, this country chick is loving city living and has even found it inspiring. Several songs on her new album Wildcard, such as “Fire Escape,” were written about her experiences in the Big Apple. “I’ve never had a fire escape before until being here. So, of course, I had to write about it — it’s new,” she explained. “Getting to just disappear and really get into the culture of the city was so good for my creativity and inspiration because it was something different.”

Since Miranda and Brendan’s whirlwind romance, the happy couple splits their time between New York and Nashville. Luckily, her city boy, 28, has really embraced the countryside. “He loves Tennessee and wouldn’t move back to New York because he’s so happy there,” a source exclusively told In Touch back in July. “He loves the Tennessee lifestyle.”

Back in May, the two purchased a $2 million apartment in NYC so they can have a home base in both of their beloved cities. Miranda has “totally upgraded Brendan’s life. Being a young NYPD officer, he wasn’t exactly rolling in the money. But it seems like Miranda likes spoiling him and doesn’t mind spending money to make him happy,” another source told In Touch exclusively at the time. “Miranda wants to be the alpha partner. She doesn’t like feeling vulnerable, and, thankfully for her, her millions often give her power over most situations,” the source said.

One thing is for sure, these two are madly in love and it seems like they know how to compromise. Don’t worry girl, the subway still scares us too!
