Megyn Kelly Says Spencer Pratt Has ‘Political Promise’ Though She Admits ‘I Remain Skeptical’

Megyn Kelly appears to be rooting for Spencer Pratt as he continues to campaign for California’s mayoral election.

Calling the Hills alum, 42, “somebody who does show political promise,” the 55-year-old political commentator said on the Monday, May 11, episode of The Megyn Kelly Show that it’s been “very fun” to watch Pratt “unleash a can of reality whoopass on our friends in California.”

Still, she admitted, “I remain skeptical,” given that it’s the state of California.

“What are the odds they’re going to do the right thing?” Kelly asked. “He’s still trailing in the polls behind [Los Angeles mayor] Karen Bass.”

Kelly also talked about how CBS did an interview with Pratt that he allegedly said turned into a “three-minute hit piece.”

“It really was slanted,” Kelly said, explaining that they “highlighted his time on reality TV.”

“So he’s now saying he’s never going to give CBS an interview again — and that if he becomes mayor and gets reelected one time, that for the entire eight years, he will not be speaking to them,” she said. “That’s how mad he is about what they did.”

“Does [it] make you wonder whether it’s even worth it to sit down with these outlets that are just going to do a piece like that about you?” she asked.

Pratt announced that he is running for mayor of Los Angeles while commemorating the one-year anniversary of the devastating Palisades Fire, which destroyed his home.

Last month, the political candidate revealed an advertisement promoting his campaign, simply writing: “They not like us.”

“This is where Mayor Bass lives. You notice something?” Pratt began in the video ad, pointing to a house allegedly owned by the current California mayor, 72.

“This is where I live,” Pratt said, as he stood outside of a mobile home in an area that appears to have been ravaged in the California wildfires.

“They let my home burn down,” he continued. “I know what the consequences of failed leadership are. That’s why I’m running for mayor — for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos that want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city.”

“I’m done waiting for someone to take real action,” Heidi Montag‘s husband — who has been outspoken in his criticism of California governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles mayor Bass — explained during his impassioned speech at the “They Let Us Burn!” protest.

The election will be held on June 2.
