Mariah Carey, 44, and Nick Cannon, 34, may have remained amicable since their split, but the alleged custody battle they're stuck in the middle of sounds anything but pretty.
The couple, who married in 2008, have yet to file any official documents, but according to a source, they're trying to get everything squared away to make things less hectic in the long run.
They both currently share custody of their two children, Monroe and Moroccan, both 3-years-old, a $5 million private jet, as well as various properties and luxury cars — and are planning to fight each other in court.

"She's trying to keep it together," said the source. "She's focused on caring for her children and her upcoming five sold-out Christmas engagements in New York."
Mariah recently upset fans when she was late to her Rockefeller Center Christmas tree performance on Tuesday due to the rain. When she finally got there, she was highly criticized for her off-key singing.
Sources say Mariah wasn't just late because of the weather, but because she was busy on the phone with her divorce lawyer for nearly five hours.
"Last night's situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you," she wrote to her fans on Twitter.
