Who Is ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Abbey Romeo’s Dad Eric Lutes?

Eric Lutes is an actor who was born in Charlestown, Rhode Island. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting from the University of Rhode Island, and subsequently moved to New York, where he appeared in off-Broadway productions and commercials.

Eric appeared in six episodes of the ABC soap opera All My Children between 1989 and 1990, playing Mr. Pressman. He went on to land small roles on such hit 1990s shows as Frasier, Mad About You and The Commish.

The actor’s big break came when he got the part of Del Cassidy on the NBC sitcom Caroline in the City starting in 1995. Eric appeared in 97 episodes across the show’s four seasons.

Eric is still an actor who went on to appear on such shows as the 90210 reboot, How to Get Away With Murder and The Suitor, as well as films. His most recent gig was in the 2025 Prime Video movie Fog of War.

In addition to acting, Eric works as an acting instructor. He taught a six-week course on comedic acting in 2024. “Thank you, Boston Casting, for another great teaching experience with a talented group of motivated actors! As of 2025, Eric lives in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Who Is ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Abbey Romeo’s Mom Christine Romeo?

Christine is a Massachusetts native who worked as an actress and producer. She worked steadily throughout the 1990s and early aughts, landing small parts on Models, Inc., Dharma & Greg, Sisters, ER, Spin City, The O.C., The King of Queens and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Christine even had a two-episode stint on Eric’s show, Caroline in the City, in 1996.

When Did Christine Romeo and Eric Lutes Get Married?

The duo tied the knot in 1990. They welcomed their first child, Abbey, in May 1998, followed by a son, Ben Lutes, 19 months later. Christine and Eric divorced in 2006.

Eric Lutes Is a Talented Artist

Eric’s Instagram page is filled with his love of painting, including work that he’s shown in exhibitions. He had a solo showing of his works in the summer of 2024 at a Rhode Island art gallery.

Most of his work centers around the ocean, including waves, boats, fishing lures, oysters and other nautical themes.

Eric Lutes Is ‘Proud’ of Daughter Abbey Romeo

When profiled by a local Rhode Island newspaper in February 2025, Eric told The Westerly Sun that his proudest accomplishment is “my kids, Abbey and Ben.”

Ben works as a digital creator where he posts numerous videos about his battle with ADHD and is very close to his sister.

Christine Romeo Is a Familiar Face to Netflix Viewers

While Eric has never appeared on Love on the Spectrum, Christine has been a familiar face on all three seasons of Love on the Spectrum after its Netflix debut in 2022. The former actress has also given numerous interviews about Abbey’s autism, when it was diagnosed and the treatments she sought so that her daughter could grow up to become an independent adult one day.
