Lori Loughlin’s Family Is Showing a ‘United Front on Social Media’ But There’s Still a Lot of ‘Hurt’ Post-Scandal

Together we stand. Lori Loughlin’s family is still up in arms over their mom’s alleged participation in the nationwide college admission scandal. A source confirmed to Us Weekly that the family is “showing a united front on social media.”

Daughters and social media stars, Olivia Jade, 19, and Isabella Rose Giannulli, 20, have stayed out of the spotlight since the news spilled back in March. That is, until the girls posted on July 28 in honor of the Full House alum’s 55th birthday. “Birthday mama. I love you,” wrote Isabella under a pic of her and the actress. Olivia added, “my people.”

Although the girls appear to be on good terms with their mother from their thoughtful birthday wishes, the source stated, “The family is still very strained and there’s a lot of deep-rooted hurt.” Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were arrested in March after they allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters, Isabella and Olivia, designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

The couple was released on $1 million bond and could face up to 20 years in federal prison, three years probation and a $250,000 fine if found guilty. They both plead not guilty. Another source told Us Weekly that “they believe they’ll be exonerated,” and added that the couple are “actively engaged in their defense.” The two “won’t even talk about taking any type of” plea bargain in the Operation Varsity Blues case, said the source. The case will likely go to trial in early 2020.

The TV mom has high hopes and believes she won’t go to prison. “[She] reads everything that’s written about her, and it’s killing her that her squeaky-clean reputation has a done total 180,” a source told Us Weekly in May. “She thinks she’s not going to serve jail time and [will] return to work.”
