Lori Loughlin Enjoys Afternoon Yoga as Felicity Huffman Checks Into Prison

Namaste. Lori Loughlin was spotted heading to afternoon yoga with a mat in hand on Tuesday, October 15, shortly after Felicity Huffman checked into prison for her involvement in the nationwide college admissions scandal. As of now, Loughlin is still awaiting her trial to find out her own fate.

The Fuller House actress, 55, has pleaded not guilty to money laundering and conspiracy charges. Loughlin is one of more than 50 parents that have been investigated for their involvement in the scandal. She and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, have been accused of dropping a whopping $500,000 to help secure a spot for their daughters at the University of Southern California as recruits to the school’s crew team — “despite the fact that they did not participate in crew.”

Meanwhile, Huffman, 56, is now beginning to serve her time after being sentenced to 14 days in prison. In April, the Desperate Housewives star pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud, owning up to shelling out $15,000 to boost her daughter Sophia’s SAT scores.

Around the time her sentencing was revealed, Huffman released a statement mentioning how she “accepts the court’s decision without reservation.” She wrote, “I broke the law. I have admitted that and I have pleaded guilty to this crime. There are no excuses or justifications for my actions. Period.”

Just a few months ago, the star released another heartfelt message via social media. “I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community,” Huffman wrote at the time. “I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.”

Looking ahead, Loughlin might not receive such a light sentence if she is convicted for the crime. “I don’t think I’d be giving away any state secrets by saying we would probably ask for a higher sentence for her than we did for Felicity Huffman,” U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling told Boston’s ABC affiliate WCVB.

It appears that Loughlin is trying to stay grounded amid her legal drama.
