Little People, Big Scandal! Jacob Roloff Dropped out of High School in Protest of Public Institutions

A new season of LPBW* *aired this week (yas!), and now many fans have been wondering what the heck Jacob Roloff has been up to. The 21-year-old famously refused to renew his contract with TLC after he turned 18, and he's been living a quieter life these days. But did you know that the once estranged star dropped out of high school and slammed his friends who went to college?

Back in 2015, Jacob used Twitter as a way to vent his teenage angst. When one fan commented on his "high intellect" but critcized him for dropping out in protest of public institutions, he responded, "If you can tell my intellectual level with me not having finished formal high school, why do I still need it? Just to say so?" Fair point, TBH. He added that he had a "hard time being excited" for his friends going to a four-year college. "I think you could learn a lot more for a lot less."

Despite his lack of schooling, the youngest of the Roloff siblings recently found success with his first book, Verbing, and in his love life with his fiancée Isabel Rock. The ex-TLC star is even back on better terms with his family! Remember that time he tweeted he was getting "f—-d" out of the money he made from the show?

Now, Jacob has taken some time to travel with Izzy and is still filming — on his own terms. He recently started a vlog and commented on how it differs from the network. "I saw a comment on something and somebody was asking why I don't just do a show since I'm filming myself right now," he said. "There's two ways to do the filming thing — one way is through the show, maybe and the other way is through myself and vlogs. It's just more free doing it myself, I can do anything, I can say anything, I can talk about anything — I can show whatever I want."

Isabel chimed in and said Jacob is able to do all of that and not have to worry about his words or thoughts being misconstrued. She said the way that they've been recording their vlogs is more natural since they don't plan out the topics they'll be talking about.

Jacob compared filming with TLC vs. filming by himself to living in a city with air pollution vs. living in the countryside. He also said that he doesn't want to be recognized as Jacob from Little People, Big World because he would rather be recognized for one of his own projects — or he would just prefer not to be recognized in public at all. "I don't want people to think that I'm living in a resentful sort of way towards the show — I've moved on from it," he explained. "It's just a natural progression of leaving the place you came from, moving on away from home, traveling away from home. Just getting away."
