Lisa Vanderpump is usually busy managing her restaurant empire and filming new hit reality shows, but she is currently dealing with a major legal headache. A worker is taking the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star to court for nearly $200,000 following an accident at her estate. According to TMZ, Eric Nieto filed the paperwork claiming a nasty tumble at her massive residence left him with serious physical harm.

The incident reportedly took place on November 25, 2023, at the 8,801-square-foot home Vanderpump shares with her husband, Ken Todd. The couple hired Nieto to perform various repairs around their posh 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom mansion. While he was working at the $14 million property, the handyman was required to use a specific set of interior stairs to access the basement.

That is where things allegedly went south. Nieto claims his left foot got snagged on a step because the staircase was “poorly maintained” and in a “dangerous” state. This caused him to lose his balance and crash down the steps. In his legal filing, he insists the neglected condition of the home is exactly what led to his painful accident.

The fall was much more than a simple slip, as it reportedly caused a “severe injury” to his ankle and the lower part of his left leg. Nieto says he is still experiencing significant suffering and will need more medical attention in the future. As a result, he is hunting for a total of $195,000. TMZ notes the breakdown includes $150,000 for his physical pain and an additional $45,000 to cover his mounting hospital costs.

The couple has dealt with similar legal woes in the past regarding their various businesses. Vanderpump and Todd were previously hit with a lawsuit from former employees who claimed they were blacklisted and that the owners made “false statements” about their character. The filing also alleged that the staff suffered through “rampant violations” of California labor laws and “harassment” during their time working for the reality stars. These messy professional disputes have become a recurring theme for the famous pair over the last few years.

The legal drama arrives as Vanderpump’s TV career is in flux. Vanderpump Rules was skipped over for early renewals after its audience numbers struggled. This also isn’t the couple’s first trip to court, as they settled a dispute in late 2025 with former Tom-Tom bartenders Dax Hill and Peter Hodge over “unsafe work conditions.” For this newest residence mishap, Todd and Vanderpump have not officially responded, though a source told TMZ they have “referred the matter to their homeowner’s association.”

A rep for Lisa Vanderpump did not immediately respond to InTouch Weekly‘s request for comment.
