LFO’s lone surviving member, Brad Fischetti, is opening up about learning his fellow bandmates had died throughout the years.
The group — made up of Fischetti, Rich Cronin and Brian “Brizz” Gillis — had hits throughout the late ‘90s, including “Summer Girls” and “Girl on TV.” In 1998, Gillis left the boy band and was replaced by Harold “Devin” Lima. LFO officially disbanded in 2005.
In the new ID documentary, Boy Band Confidential, Fischetti, 50, recalls the moment he learned that Cronin had been diagnosed with leukemia.
“I had heard that Rich was having trouble with his legs. So I texted him like, ‘Hey man, I heard you were having some trouble walking. I figure there’s two ways to get you out of bed — one is a beautiful blonde, or a tour.’ I said, ‘What do you think? You want to tour again?'” he said, per People.
“A few weeks later, I found out from a fan, actually, that he had died,” Fischetti revealed.
Lead singer Cronin died at age 36 in September 2010 from the disease.

At the time, Fischetti was living with Lima and they began making music together again to process the loss. However, that was cut short when he learned Lima had a very rare cancer called primary adrenal cancer.
“I used to yell at God, like, ‘Please don’t take him. Please,’” he says in the documentary. “ He passed away and he was not only my bandmate, but my best friend.”
In 2023, Fischetti was dealt another blow when he learned that Gillis had died as well. At the time, Fischetti was tasked with announcing the news to the public in a heartfelt Instagram message.
“I know that soon or maybe already, Brizz will be greeted by Rich and Devin. And I hope that together, they will make some sweet sounds. I would really like that,” he wrote at the time.
