Vittoria Ceretti ‘On a Mission to Be Mrs. DiCaprio’ as She Takes an Interest In Leo’s Bizarre Hobby

Leo DiCaprio has been a huge fan of dinosaurs and even collecting dinosaur bones, and a source exclusively tells In Touch he’s roped current girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti in on the geeky fun that he loves so much. 

“He’s always been obsessed with dinosaurs, collecting them and talking about them. It’s very off putting to a lot of people because he can go on and on for hours – it’s his thing. He even has these enormous skulls of dinosaurs at home.”

While collecting fossils may seem like a peculiar habit, Leo, 49, isn’t alone in his strange obsession in Hollywood. In 2007, actor Nicolas Cage outbid the Basketball Diaries star on a 67-million-year-old skull of a tyrannosaurus bataar. Though, the piece may have been stolen. Russell Crowe, too, had been a collector, at least until his marriage to Danielle Spencer fell apart, which prompted the Gladiator actor to unwind a considerable part of his collection in an auction – including a mosasaur skull that he had purchased from none other than Leo himself some time before.

If it’s just a rich guy thing, the source notes that, even though, “many of [Leo’s] previous girlfriends were turned off or weirded out by it all … Vittoria has embraced it and actually seems to think it’s endearing.”

The Killers of the Flower Moon actor’s dating history is fraught with hook ups and break ups, but the insider insists that Vittoria’s fondness for fossils “is one of the reasons that things are working so well with them.” 

The Italian model, 26, started seeing the A-list actor in August 2023, following her divorce from DJ Matteo Milleri in January of that year. Not many expected they would last, given Leo’s notorious lothario nature, but the couple has been going strong since Us Weekly confirmed in November 2023 they were “exclusive.”

“Vittoria is all he thinks about,” a different insider told the publication, noting that the Oscar winner is “completely smitten” with his new gal.

According to the first source, it would seem Vittoria reciprocates the feeling, even saying that “she’s made the effort to learn about all his favorite characters and be supportive,” as the Aviator actor is “also passionate about his comic books, which has taken Vittoria a little longer to get used to.” 

“She is proving she’s very invested in getting to know and love him on every level, she’s not just another trophy girlfriend.” 

Wedding bells for the couple may be a ways off, but the insider says it may just be a matter of time now that Leo has finally found a girl to share his sincere, if a little childish, passions with.

“Her friends are all rolling their eyes because she’s basically making his hobbies her hobbies, and he isn’t doing the same for her. But she’s on a mission to be Mrs. DiCaprio, so she’s actually playing this very well because Leo has a very geeky side and anyone that is going to last long-term in his life has to be supportive of that.”
