Kylie Jenner Slams Haters Who Say She’s Not a ‘Self-Made’ Billionaire: ‘Not a Dime in My Bank Account Is Inherited’

She’s trying to set the record straight. Kylie Jenner spoke with Interview magazine for its Spring/Summer 2019 issue and slammed anyone who said she doesn’t deserve the “self-made” billionaire label designated to her recently by Forbes. She also talked about what she wants to work on in the future now that she’s built a cosmetics empire.

Interview asked Kylie, 21, what it felt like being the youngest self-made billionaire in history. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star responded, “I never thought that this could happen. I believed in Kylie Cosmetics but I didn’t even know what I was getting myself into. It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing. I now want to focus on giving back to people and doing things that I’m passionate about.”

But when she was asked about people claiming the “self-made” label is not accurate, Kylie got a little salty. “There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth,” she said. “That is the category that I fall under. Although, I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans. I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15. I used 100 percent of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited … and I am very proud of that.”

In July, Forbes magazine featured Kylie on the cover of their “America’s Women Billionaires” issue. The magazine also declared that she was on her way to being the world’s youngest self-made billionaire by the age of 21. Kylie Cosmetics brings in $900 million a year and she owns 100 percent of that, which is no small feat. And apparently, Kylie has no time for people who try to say she hasn’t earned every cent on her own.

Kylie also told Interview that as far as next career moves go, she has “so many amazing projects coming out this year.” She said she’s “very excited” about one of them, and that when it comes to Kylie Cosmetics, she plans to keep expanding. Stay tuned.
