Josiah Duggar Is Engaged to Girlfriend Lauren Swanson — See the Family’s Announcement!

There's another wedding on the way for the growing Duggar family! Josiah Duggar is now engaged to his girlfriend Lauren Swanson after only one month of courting — and his parents announced the exciting news on the family's official website.

"We are so excited to announce that Josiah and Lauren are officially engaged!!" the statement read. "We have prayed for many years that the Lord would bring the right spouses to each of our children. We have known Lauren and her family for a very long time and have seen how she has grown in her knowledge and understanding of the Lord. She is a wonderful, caring, compassionate young lady, full of zeal for Christ. We are very thankful for her. We pray that their lives together will be full of joy and happiness and that God will use their lives for His service. We are looking forward to another Duggar wedding soon!"

The newly engaged couple also announced their engagement in a TLC video clip, and Lauren gushed over Josiah's proposal. "I’m very surprised, kind of speechless," Lauren said and giggled. "It’s exciting to be engaged, definitely. I’m still surprised at the idea but I’m just looking forward to making [new] memories with you, Siah."

Josiah revealed that he recruited his siblings’ help to set up the surprise engagement for Lauren. And while getting engaged after only one month of courtship might seem crazy to some, Josiah and Lauren have been friends for a long time before they started dating which is why they both felt that they were ready to take the next step in their relationship.

"All the time I got to spend with Lauren just growing up over the years really came to this point where I realized, ‘Hey. She is the one. This is it.’ And I could tell that we worked really good together, we served together," he explained.
