Believe it or not, Joseph Duggar has a job apart from appearing as one of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar‘s 19 children on Counting On! The reality star exchanged vows with Kendra Caldwell, 19, back in September, so fans are curious about his new life. Turns out, he’s in the family business!
According to the Duggar family blog, Joseph is a fifth-generation house flipper and is looking to get his CDL and real estate license, which a few of his older siblings have already acquired. In addition to driving the Duggars’ bus, a CDL will allow Joseph to operate rigs, such as dump trucks and rollbacks.

Last year, the Duggars took to Facebook to reveal that their son had returned home after completing just one year of college. “Joseph just completed a year at Crown Bible College and is now back working with the Duggar family business doing construction. He now plans to acquire his real estate license and his CDL license,” the post read.
Education in the Duggar household means being “homeschooled with lessons on the Bible and scenic drives through the countryside,” and although they don’t often opt for traditional college, they do take classes from an online program called CollegePlus. According to Michelle Duggar’s TLC blog, this way of learning works best for them because they are “still able to work or pursue other experiences while studying.” Plus, it allows them to stick to their debt-free lifestyle.
Recently, Joe’s pregnant sister, Joy-Anna, sparked rumors she was hitting the books after Romper reported that the 20-year-old wanted to go to college. Michelle recently wrote that some of the Duggars are taking college classes, which meant Joy could be one of them as she awaits the birth of her child. “A few of our kids are taking courses right now,” the post began, “and I think some of them will go for their degrees in whichever areas they decide, and then I think some of them may not really go for the full degree — but they’re getting knowledge and information for skills that they want to gain. All my kids are different, and it will be interesting as time goes on to see which direction each one will take.”
