Joseph Duggar has been barred from communicating with minors, including his own children, since March 31 amid his sexual abuse case. However, the disgraced reality star has asked the court to reconsider.
Joseph, 31 — who shares sons Garrett, 7, and Justus, 3, and daughters Addison, 6, and Brooklyn, 5, with wife Kendra Duggar — filed to amend his no-contact order on Sunday, May 17, according to multiple reports.
The former 19 Kids & Counting star was arrested on March 18 and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old, and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older, after an incident that allegedly occurred during a family vacation to Florida in 2020.
In his Sunday filing, Joseph’s attorney claimed that the alleged victim in the case is “not a child of the Defendant,” per People.
The affidavit stated that Joseph “admitted his actions,” claiming “his intentions were not pure.”
However, in court on Monday, Joseph entered a not guilty plea.
In addition to his child molestation case, Joseph and Kendra are both facing four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment in their hometown.
They both pleaded not guilty on April 28 with their next court date scheduled for August 10.
