Jenelle Evans’ Ex Andrew Lewis Reportedly Hires Lawyer to Fight for Custody of Son Jace

Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans might be heading back to court over custody of her eldest son, Jace Evans.

Andrew Lewis, Jace’s biological father, has hired an attorney to fight for custody of the 16-year-old, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

Kathryn Cronin Johnston, a North Carolina-based lawyer, filed a notice to appear on Tuesday, April 7, the outlet reported.

The news comes after Jace was checked into a mental health facility after allegedly pulling a gun on his grandmother, Barbara Evans, and threatening to kill her and himself in February.

As In Touch previously reported, Lewis launched a GoFundMe to help pay for legal fees as he prepared to fight to “bring Jace Evans home.”

“Jace’s grandmother and I have been cut off from having any communication with Jace due to his mother’s orders, and we are desperate to get him back to a loving environment,” the fundraiser’s statement claimed. “Although his grandma and I have tried to have him released into our care, Jace’s mother has refused to let that happen and has insisted he remain in the facility, despite her living over 2,000 miles away and not being there to care for him.”

Jenelle, 33, signed over custody of Jace to her mother Barbara when he was an infant. After more than a decade in court, she was reinstated as Jace’s legal guardian in 2023.

However, after multiple attempts to run away from his mother’s home — which she shared with then-husband David Eason — Jace went back to living with his grandmother.

According to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, the MTV alum “pulled Jace out of the [mental health] facility” in late March. The outlet claimed that neither Lewis, nor Barbara, currently know where Jace is.
