Jana Duggar’s Mom and Sisters Visit and Help With House Projects Before Enjoying Thrift Shopping Trip

Jana Duggar’s mom and her younger sisters visited her home shared with husband Stephen Wissmann before the couple celebrated Easter Sunday together.

“A little snippet from this week…. I so enjoyed having my mom and some of my sisters visit! They were very kind to help us with several house projects. To finish off their time here, we went out for brunch, coffee, and thrift store shopping!” Jana, 35, captioned her post.

In the clip, Jana’s mother, Michelle Duggar, 58, was getting down to business in full painting gear and helping to renovate the garage as well as some closet spaces along with Jana’s siblings Jordyn-Grace Duggar, 16, and 15-year-old Josie Duggar.

“It’s always the best having family in town! Yay!” Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) wrote in the comments. “How fun!! So glad they were able to visit you guys!!” Joy-Anna Forsyth (née Duggar) echoed. “Yay! So fun!” Jill Dillard (née Duggar) replied to Jana’s Instagram post.

Jana later shared a photo of herself and Stephen, 31, smiling while enjoying their holiday weekend.

“Love when I get a chance to smoke a good brisket on the smoker! Slow-cooked it overnight for our Easter family dinner,” he captioned a clip of their savory grilled meal after the duo went to church service to start off their day.

In recent weeks, the duo have been working on several remodeling projects at home and Jana also embarked on her “first adventure” with her in-laws, as documented in a YouTube video she shared which featured fun-filled moments from their camping trip.

Prior to that, she shared a video from the couple’s honeymoon and dished about moving to Nebraska with her husband.

The eldest Duggar daughter, shared by Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, tied the knot with Stephen in front of 500 guests in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, last August. Like Jana, Stephen also comes from a big family and is one of 13 siblings.

“I think it is one of those things that all girls envision someday,” Jana told People about her nuptials. “For me, it felt like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming.’ But now it’s starting to sink in. Reality is starting to set in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this truly is something that I’ve dreamed of.’ And just to see it coming about is incredible and kind of hard to believe. It’s a dream come true.”

The couple first met through their brood, having reconnected a few years ago and dating briefly before parting ways. Jana and Stephen, however, still remained friendly and “talked to each other on and off over the years.”

Jana’s brother Jeremiah Duggar married his sister Hannah Wissmann in 2022, prior to Jana and Stephen giving their relationship another go.

“I haven’t always understood what the bigger picture is, but I know that God knows what is best for all of us. And so for me, it’s getting married later,” Jana said of her journey to finding love. “Each of our stories will be written differently. If we were all the exact same, it would be a boring life. So, I think it’s neat how God orchestrates.”
