Jana Duggar’s BFF Laura DeMasie Says She’s ‘Just Friends’ With the Family Amid Courting Rumors

Setting the record straight! Counting On star Jana Duggar’s best friend, Laura DeMasie, addressed rumors she may be dating one of her bestie’s brothers.

“Hey, are you courting Jed or one of Jana’s brothers? As Jed seems to have liked loads of your posts?” one fan asked the Duggar insider on a recent Instagram post of her tiling her bathroom with an unidentified man by her side. “Nope! Just friends!” the brunette beauty replied.

This isn’t the first time Laura had to shut down dating rumors with a Duggar. Considering Jana, 30, and Laura’s close relationship and their single status, fans started to speculate the ladies’ friendship may have turned into something more.

In September 2018, one Twitter used asked Derick Dillard if his sister-in-law and Laura were dating, to which replied, “Uh no.” Not being convinced by his response, another fan commented, “Derick you should have put just ‘no.’ The ‘uh’ implies you don’t know LOL, so this is not confirmation for the masses.” Taking matters into her own hands, Laura chimed in, writing, “How about this then: No.”

Despite Laura’s confirmation, rumors still swirled that the ladies were a couple. “Are you and Laura dating??” an Instagram user asked Jana in April 2019. “Anyone else think the same thing?” Stopping the speculation once and for all, Jana responded, “No. And I would like to stop that rumor.”

Making herself very clear, she continued, “I have no interest in girls that way whatsoever. I have ‘courted’ or ‘dated’ a few guys, but so far nothing has gone into a serious relationship. Just continuing to wait and pray for the right guy to come along.”

While the best friends have a platonic relationship, that doesn’t stop them about teasing each other about their love lives. On an Instagram post of Jana gushing over her new car, her pal commented, “If you find a man you love as much as your car, marry him. #togetherforever.” Getting a kick out of her pal’s remarks, Jana replied, “@masiespace haha Thanks for that advice!”

Although Jana is the only Duggar daughter above age 22 who is not married, she isn’t “that worried” about settling down, she told Us Weekly in July. “Yes, I long to be married and one day I think that will come, but I think … I’m just also just trying to stay busy with whatever comes along my path.”
