Pants Again! Counting On’s Jana Duggar Seemingly Breaks Duggar Dress Code in New Photo

She’s making her own style choices! Jana Duggar stepped out in a pair of pants for what might be the second time on Saturday, August 15. The Counting On cutie rocked the new style as she hung out with niece Grace Duggar, her twin’s daughter. Though John David Duggar’s baby covered up part of her outfit as they played outside, fans were confident Jana’s black bottoms were pants.

“Love that you’re wearing pants!” one fan commented on the picture. “Pants. Yes, girl!!” chimed in a second. A third added, “Pants?! Whatever you’re wearing, you look great!”

Jana, 30, has worn both pants and shorts before, but this would be the first time she stepped out in the outfit for just a casual hang with family and friends. In the past, she’s worn exclusively skirts and dresses except for the rare occasion where she’s participating in a physical activity, like when she went for a bike ride with brother Jedidiah Duggar or spent the day on the water for Joseph Duggar’s bachelor party. For the most part, she wore dresses while swimming and paddleboarding.

Over the past few years, all of the Duggar girls have gone through major style evolutions. Jinger Vuolo (née Duggar) was the first to break the mold when she started wearing pants and jeans after her marriage to husband Jeremy Vuolo. Not long after, Jill Dillard (née Duggar) also started pushing boundaries in denim shorts and leather leggings. However, many fans thought their circumstances were different since both Duggar daughters are married, and their husbands don’t think pants are inherently immodest for women.

“It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse,” Jeremy said during a December 2016 sermon according to Inquisitr. “The emphasis of the gospel is not food or clothes. … Jesus does not save people to make them wear skirts.”

Jana, however, is still living with parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar — and, for the most part, she seems to be living by their rules. She even shares a room with her teenage and preteen baby sisters. Since joining Instagram in January 2019, however, it seems she’s started to follow her own path — and now that path includes wearing pants.
