Tori Roloff’s Video Of Jacob And His Nephew Jackson Bonding Is Too Cute

We don’t see too much of Jacob Roloff these days, but when we do, it always warms our heart. Whether he’s hanging out with his brothers, quashing all those feud rumors, or announcing his wedding date with fiancée Isabel Rock, it’s pretty much always good news. But on Sunday, Oct. 7, Jacob was back in our Instagram feed for the very best reason. He was bonding with his nephew Jackson Roloff, and the two are too cute together. We’re pretty much in love. It’s so nice to see the 21-year-old former reality star spend time with his fam, especially since he announced he’d be leaving the cast of Little People, Big World back in May. “Among so many things, I simply did not want this ridiculous reality TV to use up so much of my time, lest it leave too deep an imprint on my ability to influence the world otherwise,” he wrote in his book, Out to See. “I did not want this imposition to become my identity, and so I rebelled in the manner that I did, and eventually exited the show.”

He’s actually pretty against the whole reality-show-family thing in general, which we can imagine would be the source of some friction between him and his relatives. “The entire concept of reality TV is strange because, as a viewer, you are subscribing to a particular illusion — that you are witnessing and being let in on the secrets of the subjects’ lives. In reality you are being shown a shallow character and only what someone else approves of, in relation to narrative and talking points,” he said. “This was my meaning in saying the ‘Roloff Characters’ in the past; not that the real people are characters or deliberately acting; but whichever Roloff you think you know is in a fact shown character — sculpted specifically to entice and convince you to keep this channel on.”

That’s pretty dark — but it’s real. We’re just glad to see that Jacob splitting off from the show doesn’t seem to have impacted his real life relationships. In fact, we suspect that it’s made them even stronger. Judging by the pictures and videos we’ve seen of him with his in-laws and niece and nephew, it seems like everyone’s been getting on OK. That doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty of drama to hash through. The 21-year-old has harbored hard feelings towards his dad for divorcing his mom in the past, and his fiancée has had her own struggles with the Roloffs. Hopefully, everyone will learn to get along one day — but in the meantime, they seem to be coping just fine.
