Inside Ben Affleck’s Night Out at the Casino With Katie Cherry: He Looked ‘Totally Wasted’

Actor Ben Affleck appeared drunk when he left the UNICEF Masquerade Ball in West Hollywood on Saturday, October 26, and later admitted he had a slip in his sobriety. But the Halloween party was just the first stop on Ben’s night out — he also hit up the Commerce casino, and an eyewitness exclusively revealed to In Touch that Ben appeared “totally wasted” while at the establishment.

In exclusive photos obtained by In Touch, the Batman actor can be seen sitting at a poker table with his new lady love, Katie Cherry.

“A lot of people get drunk and gamble here but Ben was on another level,” the source told In Touch. “He wasn’t here for long. Probably an hour. He was with a hot girl and I didn’t see anyone bothering him. They left together. It was late. Probably around 1:30.”

A second onlooker told In Touch exclusively, “Ben was so obviously drunk. His hair was really messed up, he was having trouble walking and talking and his eyes were half-closed. He looked so sleepy and tired … I tried to talk to him at one point but he was incoherent. He just threw his arms up in the air and walked away!”

Ben recently celebrated being one year sober and this situation was a setback in that process. “Well, you know, it happens,” he told cameramen outside of ex Jennifer Garner’s house on Sunday, October 27 — one day after he was seen partying and gambling. “It’s a slip, but I’m not going to let it derail me.” The photographers also asked if he would check himself into rehab, but he didn’t respond. However, an additional source told In Touch this “was a stumble and he’s working to get back on track.”

As for his new romance with Katie? The Justice League star met the singer on the dating app Raya, In Touch can confirm, but “it’s nothing serious at this time.” It sounds like he’s just enjoying dipping his toes back into the dating pool and seeing what happens.

In the meantime, fans want to see the actor get his drinking back under control. Ben had previously been doing well with his sobriety journey. “Ben’s in great shape and he feels better than he has in years,” an additional source told In Touch exclusively in August. “He goes to meetings, he has a sponsor and a group of sober buddies he checks in with regularly. He meditates and works out, which helps him focus and stay on the right track. He doesn’t put himself in sticky situations with friends that like to drink and party, he avoids temptation and even took some time off from dating.” Hopefully he’ll get back on track soon.
