“We’re pretty good. Like, we’re in a good spot right now,” Alana, 19, exclusively shares with In Touch while promoting season 7 of Mama June: Family Crisis. “I think it was just timing and just realizing that like, I mean, I guess you only live once … I mean, you can’t mourn over the same thing forever.”
Alana also hints that June, 45, has paid her back some of the money that she’s owed. “On the trailer it kind of shows her giving me the big check, obviously,” Alana says of her mother. “So she did give me the check.”
Fans watch the drama play out during season 6 of Mama June: Family Crisis. Alana and her sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird first realized that June had taken the money when they discovered the Toddlers and Tiaras alum only had $33,000 in the account.
“There should at least be six figures in that account!” Alana explained during a March 2024 episode. “Something’s not adding up. My money is somewhere. It needs to be found right now, ASAP. Because this is not gonna work.”
She went on to explain that she thought there should have been “six figures” in the account since she’s appeared on reality TV since the age of 6.
June initially denied that she took Alana’s money, though eventually fessed up to taking some cash out of the account. In fact, she claimed that she used some of the money to pay for Alana’s things during her childhood. “You have been taking care of your own self, paying your own bills since you were the age of 12,” June said on the reality show. “And you’ve been doing a good job of it.”
While speaking to People in May, Alana revealed that June had recently returned the $35,000 she earnedfrom her 2018 appearance on Dancing With the Stars. However, she claimed she has not gotten any of the money that she earned for starring on TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo from 2012 until 2014.

“When she was bad in her addiction I just kept thinking about the day she’d recover,” Alana said of June, who has remained sober for more than five years following her issues with drug addiction. “We’re going pretty good. Hopefully, it lasts. I just no longer have any expectations for her.”
