They’re ready to put their heartbreak behind them. In Touch has exclusively learned that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are continuing to try for a baby after experiencing heartbreak following an IVF treatment.

Gwen and Blake’s journey to start a family together hasn’t been an easy one, and it took an especially emotional turn at the end of the summer, when she took a pregnancy test and learned that she was pregnant with baby No. 4 — she’s already mom to Kingston, 11, Zuma, 9, and Apollo, 3, with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. She was overcome with joy and couldn’t wait to tell her boyfriend of nearly two years. Unfortunately, their joy soon turned to sadness — as a doctor told them they weren’t actually expecting. When it comes to having kids, fans have long known that Blake wants little ones who can call him “dad.” It was long speculated that his desire to start a family factored into his split from Miranda Lambert.

Of course, making his dream a reality with Gwen won’t be easy. While learning she wasn’t pregnant after the previous IVF treatment wasn’t easy for Gwen, 41, to hear, she’s making the best out of a traumatic situation. “Gwen found the silver living in the situation because after all this time, she really got pregnant. She had been afraid she wouldn’t be able to,” the source tells In Touch exclusively. “Getting pregnant was a sign that she needed to keep pursuing IVF treatments. She knows it will happen again.”

And she and her country crooner beau, 41, aren’t ready to give up. In fact, they’re more optimistic than ever before. The source adds, “They are very, very excited for the future.”
