Gavin Rossdale on How He and Ex-Wife Gwen Stefani Manage Coparenting: ‘We’re Doing the Best We Can’

They’re making it work. Gavin Rossdale spoke with Us Weekly about raising kids with Gwen Stefani, his ex-wife, and they seem to have the basics of coparenting figured out pretty well. “You know, we both manage to feed them and get them to school on time, more or less!” Rossdale, 53, joked with the outlet at the world premiere John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum on Thursday, May 9.

Gwen, 49, and Gavin share three children — sons Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 5. Gavin said of the boys, “They are doing really good. They’re really happy, and that’s it. We’re doing the best we can.” That’s all anyone can really do, right?

These days, Gwen is dating Blake Shelton, and Gavin appeared to wish them all the best. “I just always want her to be happy,” he told Us Weekly. He attended the premiere with model Natalie Golba, but no word on how long that’s been going on. Gavin also has a 30-year-old daughter, Daisy Lowe, with his ex Pearl Lowe.

But his relationship with Gwen is probably the most well-known to the public — after all, they were married for 14 years. In a 2017 interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, Gavin said of his relationship with his ex-wife, “We had 20 years together, and that in itself is pretty incredible. It’s a lifetime. I still think she’s incredible. It was a lovely 20 years, and we have three amazing children. There were a lot of positives, and with time they’ll become more and more obvious. The unconditional love she shows me is so powerful. It’s one of the greatest gifts, and I’m grateful for her every day.” That’s much more of a positive spin than a lot of people will offer about their exes!

Along with their two amicable parents, Gwen and Gavin’s kids seem to have found a great role model in Blake, too. He loves spending time with the boys, and in an interview on Today back in March, the country music icon said of Gwen’s kids, “Having them around — I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s so much fun.” Gwen and Gavin’s kids are pretty lucky!
