‘DWTS’ Star Lamar Odom Gushes About His Supportive Kids: They’re ‘the Reason Why I Am Doing This’

Daddies make the best dance partners! Lamar Odom shared how supportive his children — especially his daughter — have been since he started his journey on Dancing With the Stars. The 39-year-old told In Touch and other reporters about what his kids think of his new endeavor on Monday, September 30.

“My daughter especially is the reason why I am doing this,” Lamar said when asked if his kids have been by his side. “I really love all of their support … I wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for them.” Lamar previously shared on The Real that his relationship with his children wasn’t always great. Luckily, he said things are “better now.”

One thing is for sure, the former basketball player can count on his new girlfriend, Sabrina Parr, to cheer him on. Ahead of Lamar’s last performance, the 32-year-old wrote him the sweetest message on Instagram. “Walking into another week of competition! Baby you’re DOING IT @lamarodom!!!! I’m so happy to be here doing it with you!” she wrote on a video of the two walking behind the scenes. “You’re a winner! You’re a champion! You’re a star! You’re a survivor! You’re a king! Way before you even hit the dance floor you’ve won!” the health and life coach continued to gush about her man. “I love you so much! Thanks to everyone that voted for him! We really appreciate you!!!”

Lamar recently told In Touch that Sabrina has been “amazing” through this whole process. “She’s a beautiful piece of my life,” he added. The athlete is absolutely smitten with his new lady and he is already thinking about popping the question. “If I had a ring, I probably would have asked her to marry me right now,” the former NBA star gushed during his appearance on The Real. “No rush. We’re gonna do it with a ring, when the time is right,” Sabrina chimed in.

“I think people are going to be very surprised as to how Lamar and I operate with one another,” Sabrina said of their love. “It’s a lot of loving and learning and growing and transparency. A lot of transparency.” So happy Lamar has so many people cheering for him in the stands!
