Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl Is ‘Going to Therapy’ Amid Scandal: ‘He Wants to Save His Marriage’

Dave Grohl is bending over backwards to turn his marriage to Jordyn Blum around after revealing he fathered a child outside of his marriage. However, being stuck in the doghouse is driving him barking mad and sources say he doesn’t know how much more of this he can take. 

“He’s gone from being rock god to scumbag overnight, it’s changed the dynamic and he hates it,” a source exclusively tells In Touch. “But he’s got to go along if he wants to save his marriage. Jordyn and the kids are his life.”

The Foo Fighters’ frontman, 55, shocked the world when he shared the news of his illegitimate child via Instagram on September 10, writing, “I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.” 

“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he continued. “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

The insider adds, “He admits he was wrong, but he’s under total scrutiny, he has no freedom. He’s offering up phone text messages and constantly apologizing and going to therapy. He’s trying to be a good dad but at the same time it’s frustrating and he doesn’t understand that these things can take months, even years to fix.”

In the weeks since Dave’s confession, both the former Nirvana drummer and Jordyn, 48, have been spotted without their wedding rings. 

The mother of three – who shares daughters Violet, Harper and Ophelia with the rocker – was spotted meeting with her tennis coach, Christopher Crabb, and Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz on September 17. In photographs published by Page Six, it’s evident that she opted not to wear her engagement ring. 

Three days later, during a grocery shopping trip at a Gelson’s Market in Los Angeles on October 7, Jordyn was once again photographed without her ring. She wore a floral skirt, black denim jacket and dark sunglasses with her hair pulled back in a low ponytail as she picked up groceries. Despite wearing a gold heart necklace, a bracelet and earrings, her left ring finger was noticeably empty. 

That same day, Dave was seen leaving a friend’s house without his wedding band. 

An insider previously told In Touch that the Ohio native had hoped to keep the news of his newborn child private, but was ultimately pressured to share the news publicly. 

“He feared the mother or someone else would spill the news,” the source said on September 17. “It’s his way to own up that he’s made mistakes.”

While it remains unclear where their marriage currently stands, a source told The Daily Mail, “She gave him an ultimatum to figure it out and he wants to regain her trust.”

“He has to focus on her, that will be his best chance at getting back to what they had. Dave is focusing on her needs,” the insider added. “Revealing [his affair and baby] in the first place was his last-ditch effort to save the marriage, because Jordyn knew about it well before the world found out. He would rather remain married.”
