It’s hard not to be inspired by actress Busy Philipps on Sept. 27. The brave actress took to Instagram to share her harrowing story of being raped as a young teenager… to lend her support to another alleged victim.

“#Tbt, This is me at 14. The age I was raped,” Busy began beside a fuzzy school photo. In it she looks like a much-younger version of herself, with no makeup and a striped shirt. “It’s taken me 25 years to say those words.”

While it may seem like a short, simple statement, Busy revealed that she’s been working up the courage to talk about it for some time now, and this public announcement was the final step. “I wrote about it in my book. I finally told my parents and sister about it four months ago. Today is the day we are silent no more,” she said. “All of us.”

“I’m scared to post this. I can’t imagine what Dr. Ford is feeling right now,” she ended, throwing her support behind Christine Blasey Ford, the first woman to come forward accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her three decades ago. Several others have shared their stories since, all to the same hatred and disbelief from many of Kavanaugh’s supporters.

Many other famous women took to the comments of the post to send their love and support to Busy following the emotional reveal. “I love you, I believe you, I hear you, I see you. You are safe now. #metoo,” replied The Office actress Jenna Fischer. Actress Leslie Bibb wrote, “I love your spirit, your honesty, and your strength.” January Jones and Aidy Bryant sent emoji hearts, letting Busy know they’re there for her.

Busy may have been forced to fight at a very young age, but she’s come out on top in the end. She has slayed on TV shows like Cougartown, Drunk History, and Vice Principals, and on Oct. 28 she will kick off her new late-night talk show, Busy Tonight, on E!. We wish her the very best in her new adventure!
